Hikes and Walks around Bruny Island

Grass Point – 1 hr 30 min Return / Fluted Cape – 2 hr 30 min Return

Beginning at the Adventure Point entrance to the National Park, the Grass Point walk is a well-formed track that is well-suited to families and novice bushwalkers. The walk is easy and mostly flat, with only a few small changes in elevation. This scenic route provides beautiful coastal views most of the way.

The Fluted Cape walk begins at the same point at the Grass Point walk, and follows the same course until the open grasslands at Penguin Island, at which point the Fluted Cape Circuit sign should be followed. This walk is more difficult than the Grass Point walk, with some steep climbs.

East Cloudy Head – 4 hr Return

This walk starts at the end of Cloudy Bay Road, following the course of the beach before turning inland and crossing Imlays Creek many times. Once the path reaches an old four wheel drive track, there are a number of steep ascents and descents.
It takes roughly two hours to reach the headland, before returning the way you came.

Labillardiere Peninsula Circuit – 6 hr Return

The circuit starts at Jetty Beach and can be walked in either direction. The track leads to the top of Mt Bleak, before descending to Hopwood Beach and Butlers Beach. The rest of the circuit is roughly three hours worth of walking through light forest.
